Dreaming of an Experience

After reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, I started finding my omen in my day to day life. Man its great ! You know why? Cause when you are giving credit to some one for something good that happened to your life, you are being humble; you are being modest !
I got an another omen in last month. My first out of station project. It’s big. It’s challenging. It’s our Y Factor seminar..I was determined about not to work in Kolkata. There is no challenge for me. Am bored enough to work here. So, I thought to go to Guwahati, as I have started loving hills for last 2 years.
Finally, one day, all our faculty and principal came to our class to fix on the Y Factor teams. I could not make my way to Shillong or Guwahati, because a huge number of my friends are from there. I should have told you before, that the basic factor for deciding the team is, people will be privileged if Y Factor is happening in their home town. Me and my best friend Sneha were left out from Guwahati, Shillong, Jamshedpur, Ranchi… then Princi started auctioning! He suddenly screamed “Volunteers for Rourkela, Vizag, Bhuvaneshwar and Varanasi. Those raise hands who have confidence to go in new places, can adjust and work in unfamiliar environment.” We raised hands for Rourkela, because all these places are almost samely unknown for us!
I should have told you before one more thing, ‘It is a rule that two best friends can not belong to the same team.’ And me and sneha are famous for our attachment towards each other. Poor us! Princi came up and sent Sneha to Rourlela and decided Varanasi for me ! I was so shocked! Varanasi! Oh my God! I never thought that I would be sent to Varanasi! Or Kashi ! What should I say? Am I so paapi? !!
I started Googling; searched wikimapia- "Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together." !!! I was astonished. According to legend, the city was founded by the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva, around 5,000 years ago, thus making it one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the country. It is one of the seven sacred cities of Hindus. Many Hindu scriptures, including the Rigveda, Skanda Purana, Ramayana, and the Mahabharata, mention the city. It is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world.
I found some more information about Varanasi…. I started feeling the city. I am imagining the evenings at the ghats. Will I be able to understand their dialect-Kashika Bhojpuri? It is the hometown of Lal Bahadur Shastri, Ustad Bismillah Khan, pandit Ravi Shankar, Tulsidas, Girijadevi and many more.
I will be working here! My first adventure! I do not even know that when did I fall in love with the place!
Am honored. Am grateful to my Princi. He chose me. He is the omen. I do not know whether the path will be smooth or not. The memory might not be colorful. Whatever, I never cared for these things! An experience speaks for itself. How ever the memory will be, it will be mine, about such a city! I am looking forward to Varanasi – an encounter that will be attached to my life for ever.

Should we get Married?

A promise, “There will be ups and downs, so many problems. Both of us may want to walk out from the relationship, I may not ask you to be mine, but believe it that deep in my heart you are the nearest person in my life ” - What else do we need from our life partner? Yes, the list is countless, I know. We all expect our relationships to be eternal, so there comes necessity of marriage.
Apparently, marriage is very pure kind of a thing. However the fragments of marriage varies in different countries. In India, marriage is alleged to be an unbreakable bond between two persons. Then what about divorces?
Nowadays peaceful, long married lives are becoming rare. Our work pressures are so high that we are not able to understand the other person’s need. Life always cannot be easy and bright. There is a grey part also. A perfect marriage can be a fantastic stimulus. Togetherness and a faithful company that is what we all look for in a marriage. Marriage is just a further impetus , not something indispensable. A marriage invites next generation also. To secure their future and growth a marriage should be more responsible.
Oscar Wild said, “Each man kills the thing he loves.” The promise should be kept, followed by the marriage will be successful.
